On Saturday, I attended a fun and organized convention, none other than Rhode Island Comic Con. This was the sixth annual Rhode Island Comic Con. In previous years, the event was held at the Rhode Island Convention Center, and Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island. This year, a third venue was added: the nearby Omni Hotel, where all of the panels were held. As always, the headliner celebrities’ tables were located on the arena floor in the Dunkin’ Donuts Center. This year, the rest of the celebrities were moved from the show floor in the Convention Center, to the fifth floor in the Convention Center. Popular guests included Hayden Christensen, Gwendoline Christie, Kiefer Sutherland, and David Harbour. I was fortunate enough to meet a few celebrities, such as Kiefer Sutherland and Tom Payne (Jesus from The Walking Dead)! Meeting Kiefer was a very notable life experience for me as I have really enjoyed as much of 24 as I’ve seen. I acquired a photo op and an autograph from him.
Meeting Tom Payne was fun as well, as I really enjoy his character, Jesus, in The Walking Dead. I took a photo with him at his table.
My dad and I were also fortunate enough to meet Ric Flair. We took a picture with him at his table.
I also bought a print of Daenerys Targaryen from artist Chrissie Zullo.
Rhode Island Comic Con also had a its own exclusive Funko Pop! figure, Pennywise from IT. The figure was included with VIP tickets. However, it was available to everyone for purchase at the Toy Vault booth.
I also asked a question at The Walking Dead reunion panel! The panel consisted of Laurie Holden (Andrea), Sarah Wayne Callies (Lori), Jeremy Palko (Andy), and Steven Ogg (Simon). I asked Sarah what her favorite scene was that she filmed with Andrew Lincoln. She responded with,
“Every single one!”
Overall, Rhode Island Comic Con 2018 was a fun success; I enjoyed the atmosphere, along with meeting the celebrities!
