‘Supernatural’ Showrunner: Michael Isn’t This Season’s Big Bad
Supernatural is airing its 13th season on The CW, and Michael the archangel will not be the only villain the Winchesters are facing this season.
Season 13 ended as Michael took possession of Dean, and made it into the Main Universe, so he will definitely be a point of contention, but who is the bigger villain?
Based on last night’s episode, in which Sam and Dean investigate some action figures becoming possessed and attacking the shop owner, it could be another evil energy.
The Winchesters have taken down their fair share of villains over the years. Usually, one monster is used to distract Sam and Dean from the season’s big threat. Executive Producer Eugenie Ross-Lerning says that this season will be the same.
Everybody has to find a way to undo Michael, who’s the super villain as we start out the year, but will not be the primary villain.
This will not be the first time one of the Winchesters has to save his brother from possession. The possessions have taken their toll, but the brothers will succeed and bounce back.
Dean’s been contaminated by Cain. He’s a tough guy. His body’s sort of accumulated a lot of, I think, antibodies against evil, so he’ll be OK. He knows how to handle himself, even though he’s been altered. But there is a little bit of a surprise, in terms of this semi-possession, which I can’t tell you about. There’s a little bit of a twist.
To entertain its loyal viewers, the show has incorporated time travel, favorite Meta episodes, and even a musical. This season is setting off to be another solid one.
You can catch Supernatural Thursdays at 9 PM ET on The CW.
