The Squad is Back in the First ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ Teaser!

Ready to head back to the Nine-Nine (Nine-Nine!)? Good, because Brooklyn Nine-Nine is officially preparing to set up shop over at NBC for the midseason and we finally have our first look at season six! The all too short teaser previews a new tagline saying that “Brooklyn’s best have a new beat.”

Of course, they may have a “new beat” but Jake Peralta is definitely up to his old tricks. The season five finale ended with a minor cliffhanger, which found Captain Holt revealing to the squad whether or not he was promoted to police commissioner.  Well, the teaser seems to show that exact moment and as the rest of the team sits around with sullen expressions, Jake is dancing all around Holt in classic Jake fashion. Could Holt have been passed over for the job?

While it’s so great to see the team back together, unfortunately, it won’t remain that way for long. Chelsea Peretti, who has played enigmatic Gina Linetti since season one, announced that she would be exiting the series at some point during season six. It’s just another change for Nine-Nine fans to accept as earlier this year, Fox abruptly canceled the Andy Samberg-led comedy, sending everyone into a firestorm of outrage. Soon after, NBC saved the series and recently gave it six extra episodes, bringing season six to a total of 18 episodes.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine is expected to premiere on NBC sometime early 2019.
