Rick and Daryl Brawl in Preview for ‘The Walking Dead’ Episode 9×04 ‘The Obliged’
The preview for next week’s episode of The Walking Dead is here, and it sets up an entire new set of problems for the groups.
The synopsis is as follows:
“Rick’s vision of a civilized future is threatened by a sudden reckoning with past sins that remain unavenged and unforgiven.”
At the end of 9×03, Daryl and Maggie find the women of Oceanside to be the ones who had been mysteriously killing Saviors. Cyndie ends up killing Arat to avenge her sister, as Maggie and Daryl turn a blind eye. She tells Maggie earlier, that she was inspired by Maggie’s hanging Gregory.
Maggie had been warming to the idea of forgiveness first, but this seems to have inspired her in the opposite direction. She walks off with Daryl, as they decide that they will have to approach Negan soon.
In the preview, Maggie says she wants to make things right, and is shown holding a wrapped up crowbar. We can assume that’s the weapon she is planning to use on Negan. She is then shown riding off with Jesus.
Rick then becomes concerned with the increasingly unsteady bridge that links them together. Now, strong waters are rushing under it, making it less sturdy.
In another shot, Anne is shown exposing a walker to a helpless Gabriel, after she betrays and knocks him out in the last episode. She most likely is the closest link to how Rick exits the show in two episodes.
Daryl and Rick are also shown riding together on the bike, until they’re ride turns into a full-out brawl, as they roll into the brush, kicking and punching.
Carol is also caught in a stand-off with the Saviors, who now have weapons.
The Walking Dead episode 9×04 airs Sunday night at 9 PM ET on AMC.
