Bette Midler Joins Freeform’s ‘Hocus Pocus’ Reunion Special

It’s finally happening! All three iconic Sanderson Sisters from the beloved 90s film Hocus Pocus will be reuniting on Freeform’s 31 Nights of Halloween this year.

ABC announced on Friday that Bette Midler will now be joining Kathy Najimy and Sarah Jessica Parker for the Hocus Pocus 25th Anniversary Halloween Bash airing this Saturday. The Halloween Bash celebration will feature an all-star party in honor of the Hocus Pocus film with a two-hour special hosted by Vanessa Hudgens and Jordan Fisher. Additionally, the special will feature exclusive interviews with the cast and creators, musical performances by Dove Cameron, Jordin Sparks, Jordan Fisher, and others as well as a Hocus Pocus themed costume contest! Fans of the original film will not want to miss this!

Hocus Pocus was released by Disney in 1993 and has become a beloved, nostalgic Halloween classic. The film told the story of three witch sisters, Winifred (Bette Midler), Sarah (Sarah Jessica Parker) and Mary (Kathy Najimy) Sanderson who were resurrected after 300 years. The witches seek to take over Salem, Massachusetts using their dark magic and specifically to capture the souls of children in order to recapture and retain their youth. When Max (Omri Katz), his sister Dani (Thora Birch) and Allison (Vinessa Shaw) challenge the truth of an urban legend, the three kids must do everything they can to stop the Sanderson sisters.

Hocus Pocus is also returning to AMC theaters this month for a limited time only. AMC viewings of Hocus Pocus will be held at select theaters nationwide starting on October 26th through Halloween, October 31st. For a full list of participating theaters, visit
