David Dastmalchian Says Thanos “Wouldn’t Stand a Chance” Against His ‘Ant-Man and The Wasp’ Character

Marvel’s Ant-Man and The Wasp was released on digital and Blu-ray last week, and it turns out, if you go back and watch the film again super closely, you’ll discover the key to defeating Thanos rests with the most unlikely character. At least, that’s what actor David Dastmalchian told us during our interview with him while promoting the film’s home release.

Dastmalchian plays the role of X-Con employee Kurt in both Ant-Man and Ant-Man and The Wasp, and the character has a hidden superpower that no one, not even Scott Lang himself, knows about. That power lies in Kurt’s incredibly luscious and highly indestructible hair.

When we asked Dastmalchian how he felt his character Kurt would fare if he had to face off against the villainous Thanos himself, we could tell this was clearly a question he had already thought through. Without missing a beat, Dastmalchian fervently responded, “Thanos wouldn’t stand a chance! Look at Kurt’s hair! It’s indestructible.”

Feeling quite passionate about this answer, he continued to explain:

[row]”It’s never moved once in the movies. If you go back, and I want the die-hard fans to go back and check frame-for-frame, there’s no movement in that hair. It’s indestructible! Thanos, pffft. He can have all of the Infinity Stones in that gauntlet. Let him take as hard of a swing as he possibly can at Kurt. The hair is not going to move. It would break his little fingers. I know it wouldn’t be as interesting of a movie and we wouldn’t have all of the superheroes coming together and all. So, that’s okay. I’m willing to sit this one out, but I’ve got to put it out there. Kurt would have taken out Thanos in one fell swoop!”[/row]

Is there more (MUCH more) to Kurt than just a Baba Yaga-fearing X-Con? Perhaps the key to defeating Thanos lies within Kurt’s perfectly coiffed pompadour hairstyle. We may never know for sure, but David Dastmalchian sure sounds pretty convinced.
