‘Superman: The Movie’ Starring Christopher Reeve Heads Back to Theaters
DC’s most famous heroes are heading back to theaters this year.
1978’s Superman: The Movie starring Christopher Reeve as Superman, will be screened in more than 500 theaters across US. The screening will take place Sunday, November 25th at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. It will air again Tuesday, November 27th. The screenings are happening in honor of the film’s 40th anniversary, and the 80th anniversary of the creation of Superman.
Animated film, Batman: Mask of the Phantasm which features Kevin Conroy voicing the Dark Knight will only be screened for one night. It will be screened on Monday, November 12th at 2 p.m. and & 7 p.m. local time as well. Its original release was in 1993, and this screening will celebrate its 25th anniversary.
DC will also give its fans a bonus by screening Max Fleischner’s animated 10-minute-long Mechanical Monsters. The short film will be screened before Superman: The Movie. This will be its first time screened since its debut in 1941.
Mask of the Phantasm will have 2010’s Looney Tunes animated Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner short Rabid Rider ahead of its screening.
Fathom Events is the force behind bringing back of these cinematic classics.
