DC Universe’s ‘Titans’ Renewed for Season 2

Titans has been renewed for a second season even before its premiere!

The DC Universe streaming service’s first series is about to launch, and during the show’s world premiere panel at New York Comic Con last week, DC executive producer Geoff Johns announced the renewal.

“We’re doing season 2 already. That to me shows the faith that DC Universe has in the show and this amazing cast and the property. DC’s so supportive of it. To be able to get a season 2 greenlit now means we just get to keep talking about crazy ideas.” he said.

Executive producer Akiva Goldsman also added her excitement,

“We’re blessed with this incredible cast that we have here on stage. We want to bring in more and more amazing actors and characters.”

The news was broken a week barely before the show’s official launch on DC’s subscription streaming service. With a very supportive DC behind him, Johns also said he knows the second season story line.

Goldsman even confirmed that some story lines will be taken from the books.

The New Teen Titans by Mary Wolfman and George Pérez contains The Judas Contract, a four part story set around a violent, dramatic conflict between Slade and Deathstroke.

Titans features Robin who teams up with Raven, Beast Boy, and Starfire to stop the current threat to Earth: a demonic force of evil.

We got to check out the first episode, and you can check out his review here!

Titans launched on the DC Universe streaming service on October 12th.
