Lucasfilm Announces Details for ‘Star Wars’ Live-action TV Series, ‘The Mandalorian’

Recently many Star Wars fans have been highly anticipating the upcoming live-action TV series, written and executive produced by Jon Favreau. It will be on the Disney’s upcoming direct-to-consumer streaming service, and will launch at some point during 2019. It has been announced that the series will take place in between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens.

On Wednesday, Jon Favreau posted the title and synopsis of the series on his Instagram! Pictured below, post mentions that the title is The Mandalorian, and there’s also a more specific time frame: in between the fall of the Empire and rise of the First Order.

Additional directors were also announced such as Deborah Chow, Rick Famuyiwa, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Taika Waititi. Like Favreau, other executive producers are Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson. Karen Gilchrist is a co-executive producer.

This series has me more excited for the Disney streaming service than I was before. I really hope to see more of Sabine, from Rebels, as she was from Mandalore. What do you hope to see in The Mandalorian? Let me know in the comments below!
