‘Birds of Prey’ Gets a Working Title & Closes in on Black Canary, Huntress Casting

It’s been a crazy week for DC Comics and Warner Bros. as we had a lot of news coming this week, like our first look of the Joker. Now, things are finally moving along for the Birds Of Prey movie, and it got a working title.

Production Weekly reported the name on the 19th of September as ‘Fox Force Five,’ which is a very fitting name for the girl gang that will team up on the screen. The girls that will be seen on screen are Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Black Canary, Cassandra Cain, Huntress, and Renee Montoya. No other news regarding who would be joining the cast was reported, although Warner is close in finding their Black Canary for the movie and has three potential candidates for the role. They also mentioned three possible ladies for the part of Huntress.

For the role of Black Canary, Warner is looking at Gugu Mbatha-Raw, known for her role in Belle and a Wrinkle In Time, Jurnee Smollett-Bell who was recently cast as the lead in an HBO show called Lovecraft Country. Janelle Monae was reported to be in the run for the role too, but they have no confirmation yet of she tested for the part.

For the role of Huntress, they have Mary Elizabeth WinsteadMargaret Qualley, and Cristin Milioti. All three of these ladies have tested for the part according to The Hollywood Reporter.
