Sony Announces PlayStation Classic
Today, Sony has announced that they will be bringing back the original PlayStation console in December of this year. This re-release will feature a console known as the PlayStation Classic. It will be much smaller than the original gaming system, not much larger than half the size. Below, check out some reactions from gamers across social media!

The classic rainbow PlayStation logo is also heavily present with this console, not only on the console itself but also on the packaging. Even the packaging adds positive significance to this announcement. It brings back a retro look by displaying a generic image of the console, set down on a flat surface, rather than a white background which would have been the more modern approach. The PlayStation Classic will come with 20 games pre-loaded onto the console. Titles confirmed so far have been listed below.
- Final Fantasy VII
- Jumping Flash
- Ridge Racer Type 4
- Tekken 3
- Wild Arms
According to The Verge, PlayStation Classic is available for pre-order at GameStop, Best Buy, and Walmart. Included with the console is two controllers. Also included is an HDMI cable. The console will not traditionally plug into a wall outlet; instead, it comes with a USB cable for power, with an AC adapter, not included, but available for purchase.
Personally, I hope to be able to play the original Tomb Raider on PlayStation Classic, as I have yet to experience that title. The PlayStation Classic goes for $99.99 and will be released on December 3. What classic titles do you hope to be able to play on the upcoming console? Let me know in the comments below!
