Good morning, Angels! It looks like the upcoming Elizabeth Banks remake of Charlies Angels is going to have fans seeing double (sort of).

On Monday, The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that the legendary Patrick Stewart was in final negotiations to join the female-driven film in the role of Bosley. The catch is that Banks, who is starring in the film as well as directing, is reportedly also playing the role of a character named Bosley. It’s not clear what the dual casting means and very few additional plot details are known at this time.

In addition to Banks and now Stewart, the film also stars Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott (Aladdin) and newcomer Ella Balinska as the titular Angels.

The new version is going global with the Angels. In the original 70s television series and in the 2000 and 2003 films, the Angels trio worked for a detective agency run by the elusive Charlie Townsend. In the new film, the agency will focus on security and intelligence services all around the world.

In addition to starring and directing, Banks also penned the script along with Jay Basu. Banks also produces along with Max Handelman (her husband).

Stewart is adding this film to his already stacked schedule. Just last month, and much to the excitement of Star Trek fans everywhere, Stewart announced that he will be reprising his iconic franchise character, Jean-Luc Picard in a brand new television series for CBS All Access. At the Las Vegas Star Trek Convention, Stewart said: “I will always be very proud to have been a part of Star Trek: The Next Generation, but when we wrapped that final movie in the spring of 2002, I truly felt my time with Star Trek had run its natural course. It is, therefore, an unexpected but delightful surprise to find myself excited and invigorated to be returning to Jean-Luc Picard and to explore new dimensions within him. Seeking out a new life for him, when I thought that life was over.”

One thing is for sure, Stewart is going to be quite busy in the upcoming months.

Sony aims to release the new Charlie’s Angels movie Sept. 27, 2019.
