Arrow’s Neal McDonough is about to saddle on up and head over to Paramount’s new breakout western drama Yellowstone for its sophomore season. McDonough, who played the popular villain Damian Darhk in The CW’s Arrowverse, has scored a recurring role on Yellowstone playing Malcolm Beck.
According to Deadline, Malcolm Beck is “a wealthy business mogul who runs an area casino with his brother, Teal. They are power players, down and dirty fighters who know how to work the system to get what they want.” While they technically sound like a duo that John Dutton (Kevin Costner) would somewhat respect, we think its safe to say Malcolm and John will most likely be butting heads like a couple of bulls.
Yellowstone is at the top of cable’s list after solidifying itself as the most-watched cable series of the Summer. After the first season finale, Paramount Network released a press release announcing the season’s dominating numbers. Yellowstone is now the “most watched show on cable this summer and most watched new scripted drama on ad-supported cable since 2016.” They ended the season on a high note with the season one finale becoming “the most watched episode in ad-supported cable since April.” When all the numbers were crunched, Yellowstone now holds the title of the 2nd most watched drama of 2018 on ad-supported cable behind The Walking Dead. Paramount had already renewed the drama for a second season back in July.
Created by Sons of Anarchy alum and Sicario director Taylor Sheridan, Yellowstone follows the Duttons, a ranching family led by Academy Award winner Kevin Costner, who own the largest cattle ranch in the United States and are constantly facing off against others (and each other) trying to encroach on their land. The series stars Fifty Shades of Grey’s Luke Grimes, True Detective’s Kelly Reilly, American Horror Story’s Wes Bentley, Rouge’s Cole Hauser, and Teen Wolf’s Kelsey Asbille.
In addition to his recurring roles on Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow, McDonough recently appeared in the Netflix original films Game Over, Man and 1922. He recurred in seasons four and six of Suits and also appeared in shows such as Justified and Desperate Housewives.
