‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’ Releases First Poster + Teases Trailer?

Twitter/Netflix

Things are starting to get a bit more spooky for Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. The series just released a new official poster for the Riverdale spinoff and it definitely lives up to the show’s promise of putting a “darker spin” on the Sabrina story fans are familiar with.

The poster finds the adorable Kiernan Shipka (Sabrina Spellman) getting ready to blow out the sixteen candles on her birthday cake, except her signature headband has been replaced with some seriously eerie Baphomet horns. In the Archie comic, which the series is based, Sabrina’s sixteenth birthday plays a massive part in the story as she must choose whether to become a full witch or pursue a mortal life with her boyfriend, Harvey Kinkle (Ross Lynch). Check out the poster below!

The series’ official Twitter account and series creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa also shared the poster except they provided the additional tease that something else would be dropping tomorrow on the 13th and if it’s not a full trailer I’m going to completely lose it.

Having been compared to the likes of Rosemary’s Baby and The Crucible fans should expect to see something totally different than the Melissa Joan Hart sitcom that ran on ABC Family from 1996-2003.

“After I read the script, I became immediately obsessed with the role, with how Sabrina is portrayed and how badass the whole thing is. It’s going to be really dark and really cool, and have this very like macabre take on everything. I’m really pumped to be a witch. Who wouldn’t be?” Shipka told  ComicBook.com  earlier this year.”

In addition to Shipka and Lynch, the series will also star Lucy Davis as Aunt Hilda, Miranda Otto as Aunt Zelda, Jaz Sinclair as Sabrina’s friend Rosalind Walker, and Tati Gabrielle as her rival Prudence.

The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina will be the perfect Halloween binge when season 1 drops on Netflix October 26th!

Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn't be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own "Pepperwood Chronicles'.
