Heroes and Villains Fan Fest: Colton Haynes and David Ramsey Agree Ruby Rose is the Perfect Choice for Batwoman

CR: Fan Fest News

Heroes and Villains Fan Fest took over Edison, New Jersey last weekend, bringing fans together with some of their favorite celebrities from television and film.

On Saturday, Arrow stars Colton Haynes and David Ramsey took to the panel state to represent the OTA. During the fan question and answer portion of the panel, one curious fan asked a question that, without a doubt, was on everyone’s mind – what do the actors think about Ruby Rose being cast as Batwoman in the Arrowverse?

Last month, the announcement that Rose would be taking on the iconic role was met with mixed reactions from fans and was accompanied by some fan backlash. If you were to ask Haynes and Ramsey, however, there’s no doubt in their minds that Rose’s casting is 100% on point!

Haynes was first to respond to the question. He quickly answered, “I think she’s the PERFECT choice.” Ramsey echoed Haynes’ response by adding, “I don’t think they could have cast a better actress in the role of Batwoman.

Haynes seemed surprised by the question and continued on to explain that he hadn’t heard any of the backlashes from the Arrowverse fandom. He reinforced his initial and continued by saying, “I think she’s a badass and she’s super amazing! Her opinions are so strong. She really stands for something. She’s just really unique, and I think that’s what you have to do to play such an iconic role, so I’m all for it! 100%.”

Check out the full clip from the panel below.

According to Entertainment Weekly, The CW describes Batwoman’s introduction to the universe of Arrow, The Flash, and Supergirl as follows: “Armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, Kate Kane soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city’s criminal resurgence. But don’t call her a hero yet. In a city desperate for a savior, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham’s symbol of hope.”

We can’t wait to see what Ruby Rose brings to the iconic Batwoman role!
