New ‘Lethal Weapon’ Promo Teases a New Partnership
We are just a few weeks away from the premiere of Lethal Weapon and heading into season three things are definitely going to be looking a bit different. With Clayne Crawford having exited the series, Roger Murtagh (Damon Wayans) needed a new partner and American Pie alum Seann William Scott is gladly stepping in.
Scott will be coming on board as Wesley Cole, a war veteran and father who returns to Los Angeles after nearly a decade to be closer to his daughter and ex-girlfriend. Psych’s Maggie Lawson will be joining the series as well, playing Wesley’s ex Natalie Flynn. We already saw in the first teaser that Scott’s definitely got the action chops to fit in:
But the big question is does he have good chemistry with Wayans? Well thanks to the latest promo released by FOX we’ve got more of a look at the pair in action. It teases some more serious moments such as Murtagh wanting Cole to understand just how important his job is to him. “I take this partnership very seriously,” he says, but it’s got some humor in there too!
Murtagh: “Hey, Cole, you’re on fire.”
Cole: No, man. We both crushed it.
Murtagh: “No, you’re literally on fire! Your arm.”

Back in May, Fox announced that they would not be renewing Clayne Crawford’s contract after he had exhibited “a pattern of toxic behavior on the set,” according to EW. Crawford had starred on the series as Martin Riggs since the show’s premiere in 2016 and did issue an apology statement, but Fox had already settled on Scott.
While not much is known about the new season, the series shouldn’t have any trouble introducing Scott’s character and writing out Crawford’s as the season 2 finale found Riggs being shot by his half-brother, giving the series an easy out.
Sean William Scott and Maggie Lawson join a returning cast of Damon Wayans, Jordana Brewster, Keesha Sharp, and Kevin Rahm. Are you excited for Sean William Scott’s to join the series or are you cutting ties now that Crawford’s out?
Season 3 of Lethal Weapon premieres on September 25th on Fox!
Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
