Kim Dickens to Star in Showtime Pilot ‘Queen Fur’

Hot off of her 4 year starring role on Fear The Walking Dead, Kim Dickens is joining a new series.

Dickens will star in Showtime’s drama pilot titled Queen Fur, written by Masters of Sex’s Eileen Myers. Also cast in the series as regulars (should it go to series) are Michael Mosley, Jon Foster, Spencer Howell, Timeless‘s Keith Machekanyanga, and The Walking Dead‘s Joshua Mikel. Dickens will be starring alongside Lily Mae Harrington.

Queen Fur is set in Central Florida in a small town known for its Southern charm, but also for beauty pageants and Cuban revolutionaries. Macy Dunleavy (Harrington) is a young girl coming into her own and wanting to take on a new opportunity after dropping out of high school. Dickens is set to play her mom, a former pageant queen.

Showtime and Sony Pictures TV are producing the pilot, Orange is The New Black‘s Sian Heder will direct and Deb Spera will serve as executive producer.

Kim Dickens starred on Fear The Walking Dead as the series’ leading lady and matron, Madison, beginning in 2015. Madison died during the mid-season finale of the current and 4th season. This was shocking to many fans who never saw her death coming. The series also killed off her TV son Nick (Frank Dillane), a few episodes earlier when Dillane decided he wanted to move onto other things. The AMC series began the second half of its season on August 12th.

Dickens’ other past projects include Deadwood, House of Cards, Sons of Anarchy, Gone Girl, Treme, The Blind Side and Friday Night Lights.

Michael Mosley will continue to reprise his role as Preacher Mason Young in Netflix’s Ozark for its second season.
