Don Cheadle: Yes, Mark Ruffalo Completely Spoiled ‘Infinity War’

With all the secrets the Marvel actors have to keep, it’s a miracle leaks and spoilers don’t happen much more often.

Some of the actors struggle with this more than others. We’re looking at you, Tom Holland! Mark Ruffalo also tends to let a little more out than is allowed. Don Cheadle appeared on Jimmy Kimmel recently, where he confirmed that Mark Ruffalo actually revealed the most major of spoilers out loud before the film came out.

In July of 2017, the two took part in an interview on Good Morning America discussing Thor: Ragnarok and the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War.

Ruffalo had a lot to say about the latter.

“Let me just say this; Like every other Marvel movie, it doesn’t end well for the superheroes.”

That wasn’t even the worst part!

Take a look at the clip below, where Don and Jimmy look back on the moment:

Don Cheadle shakes his head now and shrugs at the notion of the entire film being spoiled by Ruffalo. He tells Jimmy, “Well if you listen very closely, he actually started to say the absolute truth, and then had to try to say ‘everybody’ after he almost said ‘half.’ It was like, ‘You just messed the whole thing up!’

In the moment it seemed like a tease and a joke. It even made the news,  but the lion’s share of outlets ran the story truly believing it was a joke. In hindsight, it wasn’t a joke! It was real! The film is long out and all the fans are all too aware of what happened. They didn’t seem to take Mark Ruffalo’s early comments seriously, because we all walked out of the theater with our mouths agape when Thanos snaps and half the population disappears into dust and taking half of our favorite superheroes with it.

According to Cheadle, Marvel didn’t get upset about the comment, although he did jokingly say that Ruffalo won’t be doing press ever again. They seem to even be getting a kick out of these loose lipped guys as well. Tom Holland has been known to say a bit too much as well, and Marvel has now orchestrated two instagram posts in which Tom Holland “accidendatlly reveals tidbits about the next Spider-Man film, Spider-Man: Far From Home.

In the first one, he revealed the title as he waved the script in front of the camera. In the most recent, he acts as though he’s doing an innocent instastory on set talking bout doing his own stunts, as a gush of water blasts his stunt double behind him. The gush of water has hinted to many fans that Marvel villain Hydro-Man will be appearing in the film.

Marvel’s next films in queue are Captain Marvel (March 8, 2019), Avengers 4 (May 3, 2019), Spider-Man: Far From Home (July 5th, 2019), and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2020).

You can download Avengers: Infinity War now and purchase it on Blu-Ray and DVD. Marvel’s latest film, Ant-Man and the Wasp is in theaters now!
