His future on the upcoming season of Big Little Lies season 2 may be uncertain, but TV fans can expect Alexander Skarsgård to be hitting the small screen once again this November when his new miniseries, The Little Drummer Girl, makes its way to AMC from BBC One.  The six-part adaption of John le Carré’s novel will air as a three-night event, kicking off on Monday, Nov. 19 at 9/8c. It will continue to air two-hour installments on Tuesday, Nov. 20 and Wednesday, Nov. 21.

The Little Drummer Girl follows “brilliant young actress Charlie (Florence Pugh) who strikes up an acquaintance with an intriguing stranger while on holiday in Greece, but it rapidly becomes apparent that his intentions are far from romantic. The man is Becker (Skarsgård), an Israeli intelligence officer, who entangles her in a complex and high stakes plot which unfolds as she takes on the role of a lifetime in the ‘theatre of the real’.” The series has been described as a suspenseful and explosive story of espionage and high-stakes international intrigue.

John le Carré, who wrote the novel the series is based on, also wrote the source material for The Night Manager, which put Emmy’s in the hands of Tom Hiddleston and Hugh Laurie. Skarsgård took home the Emmy award last year for his role as the abusive Perry Wright in Big Little Lies, so perhaps he will find luck once again in the miniseries category with The Little Drummer Girl.

The series also stars Michael Shannon, Michael Moshonov, Clare Holman, and Kate Sumpter. It will be directed by Park Chan-Wook, who will be making his television debut and is produced by BBC One, AMC and The Ink Factory.

Do you think that you will tune in to see Skarsgard in The Little Drummer Girl? Be sure to check it out when it premieres on Monday, November 19th!
