Steven Ogg Books Recurring Role on TNT’s ‘Snowpiercer’


The Walking Dead’s former right hand man to Negan, is now jumping over to a different post-apocalyptic series. Steven Ogg, who played Simon on Walking Dead, has booked a recurring role in HBO’s Snowpiercer.

The thriller is based on 2013’s film known by the same title, produced by Turner’s Studio T, Marty Adelstein’s Tomorrow Studios and Bong Joon-ho. it’s based seven years after Earth becomes frozen into apocalypse. Who is left of humanity survive on a continuously moving train that circles the planet. It covers topics such as social injustice, class hierarchy and what it takes to survive such a world.

Ogg was cast as Pike, a former armed robbery convict who has escaped the Cook County Jail when the Freeze happens. Similarly to his Walking Dead character, he is serious, and has seen some stuff and done some stuff. He is also a leader with a dedicated following.

Ogg’s character Simon was killed of The Walking Dead last season, after first being introduced in season 6. He also recurs on Westworld as Rebus, and has a starring role in Solis, the indie film which premiered at the Edinburgh International Film Festival. He can also be seen in The Tick season 2 and The Short History of the Long Road, opposite Sabrina Carpenter, Danny Trejo, and Maggie Siff.

Snowpiercer will premiere on TNT in 2019.
