Kerry Washington is heading back to the small screen after wrapping up her seven-year stint on Scandal. Washington is set to both star and executive produce Hulu’s adaption of Old City Blues, which will be adapted for the streaming site from Giannis Milonogiannis’ graphic novel of the same name.

According to The Hollywood ReporterOld City Blues “is set in the year 2048 in New Athens, on the ruins that once was known as Greece but is now crawling with high-tech criminals including smugglers, drug dealers, corrupt politicians and powerful corporations. The potential series revolves around Solano, Thermidor and the rest of the New Athens Special Police to keep the city in check after the cyborg founder of a tech company is found dead.” Washington’s specific role is still being kept under wraps. The creative team consists of Rango’s Gore Verbinski who will direct the pilot with  Outcast’s Chris Black stepping in as showrunner.

Old City Blues marks Washington’s second partnership with Hulu. She will be executive producing and starring in Hulu’s upcoming miniseries Little Fires Everywhere alongside Reese Witherspoon. The series will also be adapted from a written source material and follows “the intertwined fates of the picture-perfect Richardson family and an enigmatic mother and daughter who upend their lives. The story explores the weight of secrets, the nature of art and identity, the ferocious pull of motherhood – and the danger in believing that following the rules can avert disaster.” The streaming site ordered the drama to series back in March.

Washington toplined ABC’s Shonda Rhimes drama Scandal from 2012 until its series finale earlier this year. She starred as crisis manager Olivia Pope for 124 episodes, a role that earned her two Emmy nominations and one Golden Globe nomination. She appeared in 2012’s Django Unchained from Quentin Tarintino and also the 2016 TV movie Confirmation on HBO, which also earned her some award recognition. She has three feature films on the horizon including The Perfect Mother, Run, and 24-7 with Eva Longoria.
