We think that Mark Consuelos will be very happy with who Riverdale has cast to play his younger self on the upcoming parent-focused flashback episode. Consuelos’ son Michael Consuelos will be stepping into the role, joining all of the regular Riverdale teens including KJ Apa, Cole Sprouse, Lili Reinhart, and Camila Mendes who will be playing the younger versions of their parents in the episode. Hal Cooper still needs to have his younger counterpart cast as well.

The series first announced the concept for the flashback episode, titled “The Midnight Hour” at San Diego Comic-Con last month with showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa teasing that all of those fantastic looking parents have more to hide than any of their kids realize.

“We’re gonna learn about a really, really dark secret that the parents have been keeping since they were in high school.”

Since the lives of Riverdale’s parents are just as dramatic, if not more, than their children’s we think that this secret will be quite the iconic reveal. The Riverdale parents include Luke Perry as Archie’s dad Fred Andrews, Marisol Nichols as Veronica’s mom Hermione Lodge, Madchen Amick as Betty’s mom Alice Cooper, Lochlyn Munro as Betty’s Dad Hal Cooper, Skeet Ulrich as Jughead’s dad FP Jones, and Mark Consuelos as Veronica’s dad Hiram Lodge.

Michael Consuelos has appeared on multiple episodes of his mom’s talks show Live With Kelly and Ryan! over the years, but he also has some voice-acting credits on Go, Diego Go! and Duck Dodgers. He also appeared in the short film, The Bensonhurst Spelling Bee in 2012.

Season 3 of Riverdale premieres on Wednesday, October 10th!
