‘Mission: Impossible’ Star Rebecca Ferguson Joins ‘Men in Black’ Spinoff

Rebecca Ferguson is going from one action franchise to another! Currently starring in Mission: Impossible: Fallout,  Ferguson is now in talks to join Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson in the highly-anticipated Men In Black spinoff hitting theaters next year. Most recently, she was cast to star in the upcoming Doctor Sleep adaption with Ewan McGregor, which is based on Stephen King’s novel.

Much like the rest of the news surrounding Men In Black, Ferguson’s role is being kept under wraps, but just last week we got our first look at Thor: Ragnarok stars Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson in character as Agent H and Agent Em. They will be joined by Emma Thompson,  who is reprising her role as Agent Zero, Liam Neeson (Taken) who will be playing the head of the UK branchKumail Nanjiani (The Big Sick) and Rafe Spall (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom). Sony is keeping mum as to whether or not original franchise stars Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones will be appearing.

The reboot will put a new spin on the original 1997 Men In Black by featuring all new characters and acting more as an ensemble piece. Fear not though, it will still be taking place in the contemporary sci-fi world of the original. Steven Spielberg will be returning as executive producer and Fate of the Furious’ F. Gary Gray will be directing. There’s also another Marvel tie-in as Iron-Man screenwriters Matt Holloway and Art Marcum will be penning the script.
