‘American Horror Story’ Will Be Returning for Season 10
Series creator Ryan Murphy and the cast of American Horror Story are just getting started on the series’ eighth season, however, there’s still a lot more story left to be told once this installment is completed.
Previously, the series received a two-season renewal for an eighth and ninth season. On Friday, Deadline revealed that American Horror Story will, in fact, be back for a tenth season!
FX Network’s CEO John Landgraf told Deadline, “Ryan asked for a 10th season of American Horror Story which we were happy to give to him.”
Many are speculating that the tenth season might be the last for the series, however, it’s just simply too early to tell. Landgraf commented on whether or not the tenth season would be the show’s final season by saying, “I don’t know. A lot of that comes down to Ryan and whether he still feels inspired about it. I think the eighth cycle, which is currently in production, is awesome and crazy, and I think the fans will really like it. Part of what’s cool about American Horror Story is its anthology nature. So it comes down to whether Ryan and his collaborators, like (showrunner) Tim Minear, could come up with stories that they are excited about.”
The show’s upcoming eighth season will be a crazy crossover event which American Horror Story fans have been wanting. The season, titled Apocalypse, will combine the show’s first season, Murder House and the show’s third season, Coven which has opened the doors for many familiar faces and characters to return including series staples Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, and Kathy Bates.
It has also recently been confirmed that Jessica Lange will be returning to the American Horror Story world in the upcoming eighth season in order to reprise her season one character Constance.
The eighth installment of the series, American Horror Story: Apocalypse, will premiere on September 12th on FX.
