Emily Blunt and Dwayne Johnson Officially Kick Off Production on Disney’s ‘Jungle Cruise’

Are you ready to go on another classic Disney adventure? Make sure you bring a life jacket for this one.

Production on Disney’s upcoming film Jungle Cruise is officially underway! The film stars Emily Blunt and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson made the official announcement on Tuesday as well as provided what is perhaps the first look at the film.

Both Blunt and Johnson appear on the set of the film and presumably in costume in the below video which was posted to the film’s social media accounts, as well as to Disney’s accounts, on Tuesday afternoon. Blunt kicks things off by welcoming viewers to their beautiful set before she is interrupted by Johnson who joins for moral support. The two exchange some playful banter calling the film a love story and the adventure of a lifetime.

The caption posted along with the video reads, “Emily Blunt and Dwayne The Rock Johnson welcome you to the adventure of a lifetime! Disney’s #JungleCruise is now in production. In theaters October 2019.”

Johnson and Blunt are set to star in the live-action film based on the beloved Disney Parks ride, the Jungle Cruise. The Jungle Cruise ride first opened in Disneyland in 1955. Since then, the ride has become a Disney staple in its theme parks around the world. The ride offers a scenic boat tour of the most exotic and exciting rivers across Asia, Africa, and South America.

While details regarding the film are few and far between, we do know that Johnson and Blunt are expected to be riding the Jungle Cruise to the box office on October 11, 2019.
