Robbie Amell Sci-Fi Comedy ‘Upload’ Ordered at Amazon
Robbie Amell has nailed down his next project and he’s heading to Amazon! The streaming giant has announced a series order for the Howard Klein/Greg Daniels half-hour comedy Upload, which Amell will co-star in with Pitch Perfect 3’s Andy Allo.
The series follows a world “where people who are near death can be ‘uploaded’ into a virtual afterlife of their choice.” Taking place in the year 2033, Upload follows the “secretly romantic, Brooklyn-born Nora who works in customer service for a luxurious virtual reality environment. When a handsome L.A. party boy Nathan’s self-driving car crashes, his high-maintenance girlfriend uploads him permanently into Nora’s VR world.”

They’ve made some of the best comedies of the last three decades, and I know our Prime Video customers are in for a treat when Upload premieres,” said Co-Head of Television at Amazon Studios, Vernon Sanders in a statement.[/row]
Amazon ordered a 10-episode first season and seeing that Daniels was the mastermind behind the iconic workplace sitcom The Office, it’s safe to say that Upload is certainly going to be one to watch!

Amell recently appeared in the Netflix original movie When We First Met and also guest-starred in the second season of A Series of Unfortunate Events and The X-Files revival. He has also appeared on The CW’s The Flash as Ronnie Raymond/Firestorm and will soon star in the movie Code 8 alongside his cousin and fellow Arrowverse comrade Stephen Amell. In addition to Pitch Perfect 3, Andy Allo has also appeared in 2017’s The Hero and 2016’s Hacked.
Amazon did not reveal when Upload would be available for Prime users but we will keep you updated once more about the project is released!
