Danai Gurira and Lauren Cohan Delivered Pizza at SDCC and It’s Perfect

San Deigo Comic-Con was a wild ride for Walking Dead fans. First, Andrew Lincoln officially confirmed his exit from the long-running drama series, then AMC released a trailer that had everyone talking, but one lucky fan named Angie was treated to something extra special from cast members Lauren Cohan and Danai Gurira.

The dynamic duo who play the badass katana-wielding Michonne and the Hilltop leader Maggie Greene took a break from promoting their post-apocalyptic show to try their hand at Postmates, delivering some pizza to unsuspecting fan hanging out in her room.

The video shows the two ladies strutting down the hallway of the Hard Rock hotel before entering the room as Gurira shouts “Hey, pizza delivery!”

“They were really short-staffed downstairs, and we were like, ‘All right!’” Cohan said as the completely bewildered   Walking Dead fan try to process exactly what’s happening.

When the leading ladies weren’t delivering pizzas, they were reunited with their cast and creators to promote the upcoming ninth season of The Walking Dead, which is sure to be an exciting season despite the exits of Cohan and Lincoln.

[row]”With the new characters you saw in the trailer and with that little tease at the end, for me personally I think it’s one of the most exciting time’s it’s been on the show in a long time. Because we have this new threat that is really well introduced in the comic book and is really exciting. I love that that’s where the show’s headed,” Executive Producer Greg Nicotero said during a press conference.  [/row]

Thankfully, fans have been promised by Kang, and echoed by Norman Reedus, that the women of The Walking Dead will be taking the lead this season, so despite Cohan’s impending exit, we will still be able to see her leading the way and getting the rich stories her character deserves.

“We’re going to see our women really step up, and we’re gonna show a lot of stories about leadership with Maggie, with Michonne, with Carol. And they’re gonna go toe to toe with each other and with our men,” new Showrunner Angela Kang told EW
