Amazon Releases Teaser for Julia Roberts’ ‘Homecoming’ Series
Academy Award Winner Julia Roberts is making her small screen debut in Amazon’s latest original series Homecoming, and this past weekend at San Diego Comic-Con, we were treated to our first taste of it! Amazon released a brief one-minute teaser and a November release date for the highly-anticipated series based on the hit podcast of the same name from Gilmet Media.
Homecoming, which reunites Roberts with her My Best Friend’s Wedding co-star Dermot Mulroney, follows “Heidi Bergman (Roberts), a former caseworker who used to help soldiers transition from the battlefield to civilian life. Years later, living with her mother and working as a waitress, Heidi is questioned by the government about why exactly she changed careers.” You watch the brief teaser below!

The teaser shows a bunch of empty rooms including a bedroom and a kitchen until it settles on Roberts in her therapist chair as she says “shall we get started?” before turning on her recorder.
The half-hour drama comes from Mr. Robot creator Sam Esmail and also stars Bobby Cannavale (Mr. Robot), Sissy Spacek (Bloodline), Shea Whigham (Boardwalk Empire), Jeremy Allen White (Shameless), and Alex Karpovsky (Girls).
Homecoming joins a quickly growing Amazon lineup including The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, which recently was nominated for seven Emmy Award, The Man in High Castle, which was just renewed for a fourth season, and Transparent.
The series will be available to stream for Amazon Prime members on November 2nd.
Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
