The mid-season finale of Vikings left many of our characters in precarious situations. Ivar the Boneless (Alex Høgh Andersen) had captured Kattegat and that left Queen Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) and others running for their lives. The cast recently attended San Deigo Comic Con and brought along with them a brand new trailer for the second half of season 5 which returns in November!
In the clip below, it appears as though Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig), Lagertha, Ubbe (Jordan Patrick Smith), and Torvi (Georgia Hirst) had little choice but to flee Kattegat and head towards England with Bishop Heahmund (Jonathan Rhys Meyers). In England, they are forced to make an alliance with the newly kinged, Alfred (Ferdia Walsh-Peelo) in order to survive.
It is not long before Bjorn heads back to reclaim Kattegat from his mad brother, Ivar. From what we can see, Ivar has been ruling his new kingdom with little tolerance and his relationship with his brother, Hvitserk (Marco Ilsø) seems even more strained. Therefore, it isn’t so surprising to see a glimpse of Hvitserk next to Bjorn.
Speaking of surprises, we still aren’t over that final image of King Rollo (Clive Standen) sailing towards Kattegat from the mid-season finale. We can’t be sure what his motives are for returning to his homeland, but his presence is sure to shake things up.
Because I miss the old place.
The half of the season will continue to pit brother against brother in what will surely be more deadly battles. Check out the trailer below and let us know who you think will survive the second half of the season!
Vikings returns on November 28 at 9 p.m. EST on History.
