It seems we’re getting more details to the movie as the start of production nears us day by day. Todd Phillips his origin movie called Joker is releasing more on who they want to cast for roles and who they’re talking to right now.
The Hollywood Reporter had an exclusive and they report that Zazie Beetz, the actress that made Domino come to life in Deadpool 2, is in talks to join the Joker cast next to Joaquin Phoenix, that is set to start production in September in New York.
Zazie Beetz is known for her supporting role in Deadpool 2 as Domino and as the lead in the hit shows Atlanta by FX’s Donald Glover. The success she had in Atlanta led her to larger roles like Deadpool 2 and soon she will also star in Searchlight by Fox starring Natalie Portman.
Joker the origin movie details are kept under a tight lock and key, which is normal at this phase of the movie. We do know, and are very excited, that the storyline’s based on The Killing Joke by Alan Moore. This phase is bound to get rumors, and the first rumors already started to hit the internet. According to Movieweb Joaquin Phoenix will portray a man by the name of Arthur Fleck. It’s the name that the failed comedian will bare right before his failed life drives him insane.
It, of course, brings us back to them talking to Zazie Beetz. Because, according to Movieweb, Arthur Fleck will meet a single mom by the name Sophie Dumond when he returns to his home in Gotham City. It could be the role she’d be portraying, but nothing is set in stone.
