‘Zombieland 2’ Gets a 2019 Release Date

'Zombieland 2' Gets a 2019 Release Date

The upcoming Zombieland 2 will be hitting theaters on October 11, 2019! The original film premiered in theaters on October 2, 2009.

The original cast including Emma Stone, Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg and Abigail Breslin are all onboard for the newly announced sequel. In addition to the original cast, the original film’s director Ruben Fleischer will also be dusting off his director chair for the sequel film. Original writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese have already written the script for the new film and Gavin Palone is also returning as producer. The Zombieland gang is all back together!

The original Zombieland film followed a ragtag group of survivors after the outbreak of the zombie apocalypse. Jesse Eisenberg played Columbus, a nerdy lone survivor. Harrelson played the slightly unhinged Tallahassee, and Stone and Breslin played sisters in the film named Wichita and Little Rock.

Zombieland 2 will, once again, follow these characters on their journey as they face newly evolved zombies and other human survivors all the while still learning how to live and deal with one another.

Sony has reportedly scheduled for production to start in early 2019.
