It’s Time to Get Spooky With New ‘Goosebumps 2’ Trailer!
With no Jack Black in sight, Sony has released the first trailer for their Goosebumps follow-up, Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween. Based on R.L. Stine’s widely popular book series, Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween, which was originally titled Goosebumps: Horrorland, brings Stine’s most terrifying monsters and demons to life.
Despite no Black, who played Stine in the first film, Goosebumps 2 has brought in an upcoming horror star in Jeremy Ray Taylor, who played Ben Hanscom in last years box-office success It, a role he will be reprising the 2019’s It: Chapter 2. Taylor is joined by Castle Rock’s Caleel Harris.
The two boys find themselves wandering into Stine’s long-abandoned home on Halloween only to uncover a mysterious manuscript that unlocks another chapter of horror and nostalgia-filled comedy onto their small Delaware town, which of course is all led by the evil Slappy! Jack Black will be once again providing his voice to Slappy.
“Did you miss me?” Slappy says in the trailer.
The film, which is being directed by The Duff’s Ari Sandel, will also star Maison Iseman (Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle), Chris Parnell (Archer), and Ken Jeong (Community).
2015’s Goosebumps actually did fairly well, grossing over $80 million in the US and over $150 million worldwide and currently has a 76% on Rotten Tomatoes. It was praised for being spooky yet kid-friendly, fun and full of good humor and it looks like the new trailer is aiming to do the same!

Goosebumps 2 hits theaters October 12, 2018!
Having studied Media & Writing at James Madison University, I always knew that I wanted to do some type of creative writing, but being able to write about zombies, Starks, and superheroes on a daily basis for Fan Fest is my actual dream. While I probably shouldn’t be as proud as I am to be so similar to Nick Miller, I do hope to one day write my own “Pepperwood Chronicles’.
