Nicolas Cage Will Voice Spider-Man Noir
If you are a diehard Nicolas Cage fan and Marvel fan, brace yourselves, because the actor is set to blow your mind this year.
According to Collider, Cage is scheduled to captivate us with his talented voice in the upcoming American computer-animated superhero film, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
The film is set at an alternate universe from other Spider-Man sequels but introduces a shared multiverse with Spider-Men in different dimensions one of them being the “Noir” dimension. The show follows a young Mile Morales who’s introduced to the Spider-Verse, where there’s more than one Spider-Man.
The character is a darker take on the Marvel hero who comes from the Great Depression around the 1930s. Like the traditional Spider-Man, he uses his acrobatic agility to maneuver about the rooftops and uses his webbing as nets to both stun and capture his enemies.
Cage is joined by Jake Johnson as Peter Parker, Shameik Moore as Spider-Man/Miles Morales, Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy, and Mahershala Ali as Miles’ uncle.
This is the second major animated superhero role for the actor this year as Cage is also voicing Superman in the movie Teen Titans Go!
If history is anything to go by, we can expect nothing short of action-packed scenes in all but especially the “Noir” dimension as is customary for any movie this legendary actor is featured in.
Whether you love or hate Nicolas Cage, this might turn out to be Marvel’s best animated feature yet.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse comes out on December 14 in the UK and U.S.
