‘Black Lightning’ New Season Brings New Characters

Black Lightning will be back his fall for its second season, and we’re getting a lot of information about the upcoming episodes, including news on new characters.

TVLine recently reported that there will be several new faces in season 2 of Black Lightning. The report has it that there are two character who are supposedly key players in the show, one of them being an open ethnicity character in her 40s and 50s. this character’s name will be “Perenna”, a therapist who will apparently help Jennifer Pierce (China Anne McClain) understand and accept her powers. The second character will be known as “Zlovac”, a caucassian real estate developer in his 30s. he will be teaming up with Tobias Whale (Marvin “Krondone” Jones III) so we expect him to be violent if it ever comes to revenge.
The other three characters have their roles disclosed as well.

“Dr. Jace” seems to be a character similar to DC Comics character Helga Jace, and she could end up being a problem for Black Lightning. Vice Principal Kara Fowdy, played by Skye P. Marshall, teamed up with A.S.A leader Martin Proctor in season one and ended up dead. There is a possibility that “Major Lowry”, another new character could be filling her position at the school. “Major Lowry”, is expected to be the newest principal of Garfield High school, according to TVLine. The character is portrayed as being a “smart and brave individual [who] isn’t going to have any problem taking over for Jefferson” which suggests that Jefferson Pierce (Cress Williams) will be letting go of his role at the school.

“Zoe B” the third character, a described open ethnicity character in her twenties who is engaged in the social media world and confident in her abilities to navigate it. She’s also supposedly “not necessarily looking for a relationship” so the twists with her storyline could face any direction, as adventures usually do when living the single life. However, “Zoe B” could spark the love interest between Grace and Anissa.

These reports could change at any time, so we will have to wait and see if there will be confirmations at the San Diego Comic-Con this month.

Black Lightning will be back on Tuesday, October 9th at 9/8c on The CW.
