Yvette Nicole Brown to Host ‘Walking Dead’ Panels At SDCC

It appears that everyone’s favorite Talking Dead couch-surfer and Walking Dead superfan Yvette Nicole Brown will be replacing Chris Hardwick as the host of The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead’s San Diego Comic-Con Hall H panels on July 20, Deadline reports. The news has not been officially confirmed by AMC yet.

Brown will be moderating a panel consisting of Walking Dead stars Andrew Lincoln, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Norman Reedus, and  Fear The Walking Dead’s Kim Dickens, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Colman Domingo and Lennie James. Executive Produces Gale Anne Hurd, Robert Kirkman and TWD season 9 showrunner Angela Kang will also be in attendance.

Longtime panel host Chris Hardwick was recently accused of emotional abuse and sexual misconduct by ex-girlfriend Chloe Dykstra and stepped down from his hosting duties for SDCC where he was also moderating the Doctor Who panel. AMC also pulled his upcoming talk show, Talking With Chris Hardwick, from their summer schedule. While Hardwick has denied the claims, AMC said in a statement that they are “taking the troubling allegations that surfaced very seriously.”

Brown has always been a passionate and devoted fan of The Walking Dead and will surely be a replacement that fans can support in light of recent events. If her hosting duties go well and there’s no word yet as to Hardwick’s future with AMC, we think that she would be the perfect fit to host Talking Dead when season 9 of The Walking Dead premieres this fall.

The Walking Dead panel will take place on July 20th from 11:15 to 1:15 PST and will hopefully provide attendees with a season 9 trailer and premiere date!
