Watch: Chris Pine and Patty Jenkins Team Back up for New Miniseries

We’ve got good news for you Wonder Woman fans who are having trouble waiting for the film’s sequel Wonder Woman 1984 to hit theaters! Director Patty Jenkins and star Chris Pine have teamed back up for a new miniseries premiering on TNT, I Am the Night. The series will also star Wonder Woman’s Connie Nielsen in addition to India Eisley, Jefferson Mays, Dylan Smith, Justin Cornwell and Shoniqua Shandai.

I Am the Night follows “Fauna Hodel (Eisley), a young woman who was given away at birth. As Fauna begins to investigate the secrets to her past, the trail leads her to infamous Hollywood gynecologist, Dr. George Hodel (Mays), a man with dark secrets.” Pine will play a former Marine-turned-hack reporter/paparazzo named Jay Singletary.

The miniseries will run for six episodes that will be directed by Jenkins who will also serve as an Executive Producer alongside Pine. It was written by Sam Sheridan and Monica Beletsky. The series is expected to premiere January 2019 on TNT.

After the success of DC’s Wonder Woman, which was both critically acclaimed and beloved by audiences, it was no surprise that a sequel was quickly ordered with Jenkins once again at the helm. Fans recently got a surprising sneak peek of Pine’s character Steve Trevor from the upcoming Wonder Woman 1984, a role which many were unsure he would be reprising due to the events that took place in the first film.
