Freeform Officially Cancels ‘Famous in Love’

It was a bit up in the air there for a while, but Freeform has officially pulled the plug on Bella Thorne’s drama Famous In Love. Reports broke earlier this week that the series had been canceled after two seasons but after a tweet from Thorne, Freeform was quick to comment that no decision had been made yet, although it seems now they decided that Paige Townsen and the crew will be done for good.

Here is the official statement released by Freeform:

[row]“We are proud to have had the opportunity to air Famous In Love. After many discussions, we have made the difficult decision not to renew the show for a third season. We want to thank our colleagues at Warner Horizon and our incredible producers, writers, cast and crew, especially Marlene King, for their creativity, hard work, and dedication.”[/row]

Famous in Love followed Paige Townsen as a recent college graduate who scores a coveted role on a film franchise based on a series of supernatural romance novels and finds herself trying to navigate the crazy world of Hollywood and a dramatic love triangle of her own. Based on a book series by Rebecca Serle, the television series was developed by Pretty Little Liars’ Marlene King who is currently working on a PLL spin-off and a new series with Paul Wesley.

The season two finale, which is now serving as a series finale, is sure to leave viewers with a sour taste as it ended on multiple cliffhangers including one character being brought out on a stretcher and Paige adding another level to the “who will she choose” saga by kissing Rainor.

In addition to Thorne, the series also starred Charlie DePew, Georgie Flores, Carter Jenkins, Keith Powers, Niki Koss, Pepi Sonuga and Perrey Reeves. Are you sad to see Famous in Love go? Let us know!
