Evangeline Lilly Talks Working With Brie Larson On ‘Avengers 4’

With the upcoming release of Ant-Man and The Wasp, the first movie to hit theaters since Infinity War, the MCU is buzzing about what’s to come next. There’s quite a lot up in the air with regards to the fate of some of our favorite superheroes, but also what the next chapter of films will look like. Perhaps the most buzzed about movie right now is Avengers 4, which will conclude Marvel’s first decade of superhero films. We don’t know a lot about it or really if the characters who disintegrated will be in it at all, but we do know that Ant-Man and The Wasp will play a huge role and based on that Infinity War post-credit scene that called out Captain Marvel, it was a safe guess to say that Brie Larson would be flying onto the scene as well.

Recently, while doing press for Ant-Man and The Wasp, Evangeline Lilly spoke about working with Larson on the top-secret follow-up and just what the future of the MCU looks like for female superheroes, a sentiment Kevin Feige has echoed recently.

[row]”You know what I was working, when I was working on Avengers I got to know Brie Larson pretty well, or as much as you can on a film, and her and I talked about it, and, of course, she’s going to be the next titled female superhero, she’s going to be Captain Marvel, and I’m sure this will be the beginning of many many more titled Marvel films. Black Widow. Scarlet Witch. I mean I don’t know who’s next or who’s going to get a film, but it’s not, it’s just the beginning.”[/row]

We know that the Black Widow solo movie is slowly underway, but would also love to see a Scarlet Witch movie or even that female Avengers movie everyone has been talking about!

Hitting theaters just before Avengers 4, Captain Marvel follows Carol Danvers, an Air Force pilot whose DNA is fused with an alien during an accident, resulting in superhero strength, energy projection, and flight. Jude Law has signed on as Mar-Vell and Samuel L. Jackson will also be appearing as Nick Fury. It will be produced by Kevin Feige and co-directed by Anna Boden, Marvel’s first female director, and her partner Ryan Fleck.

Captain Marvel will be released March 8, 2019.
