‘Pennyworth’ Expected to Start Production This Fall or Winter
It was announced recently that Gotham producer Danny Cannon was working on yet another Batman prequel TV Series. News from Omega Underground is that production on the pilot of the Batman prequel series Pennyworth is expected to start sometime this fall or winter.
Because the show will be set in London, it is likely that filming will also be done in U.K. but the exact date has not been given yet. Fans have been eager to hear more about the show especially because Gotham, Fox’s current Batman prequel series will come to a close after the next season.
Although the new series will not be connected to Gotham, executive producers from the Fox show will be on the fore front in the production of Pennyworth. Danny Cannon and Bruno Heller will work on the original series to explore a side of Alfred that many audiences are new to. It is important to note that Gotham has referenced Alfred’s past life quite often and we are eager to know what this series holds for us.
In April, the network gave a 10-episode straight-to-series order for Pennyworth. It will be set in the 1960s and will focus on a young Alfred Pennyworth as the former SAS operative — and future butler and confidante of Bruce Wayne who begins his secretive work with Thomas Wayne in England.
Pennyworth has not announced a cast yet, nor a series premiere date.
