June 23rd was Officially Declared ‘Supernatural’ Day in Austin, Texas

We may celebrate the guys from Supernatural every day, but now the series has an official day of observation in Austin, Texas!

The series Supernatural, and it stars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles (both Austin residents), were honored over the weekend by the Mayor of Austin, Steve Adler by receiving a proclamation of an official “Supernatural Day.” If you’re looking to celebrate along with the folks of Austin, mark down June 23rd on your calendars.

Padalecki shared a photo to his social media accounts showing the official proclamation which reads, ” Be it known that Whereas for 13 seasons, Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles have been to Hell and back on The CW Network series Supernatural, but they always come home to Austin; and Whereas, The CW has just renewed Supernatural for a 14th season of the incredible adventures of Sam and Dean Winchester; and Whereas, Supernatural fans from all over the world are gathering in Austin, bringing the best fans in the world to the greatest city in the world; Now, therefore, I, Steve Adler, Mayor of the City of Austin, Texas, do hereby proclaim June 23, 2018, as Supernatural Day in Austin.”

Clearly humbled by the honor, Padalecki captioned the photo by saying, “I can’t believe the life I get to live. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to give breath and a soul (most of the time) to my dear friend Sam Winchester. But, I’m even more grateful for the families and friendships this show has helped create and nurture. Tonight was a night I’ll never forget. Thank you to everybody involved in making it happen, and thank you to Mayor Adler for your incredible friendship and support. I love you all.”

Supernatural has renewed for its 14th season making it the longest-running show on The CW. It was recently announced that the 14th season will be slightly shorter than it’s past seasons containing 20 episodes as opposed to 23. Additionally, the cast and crew of Supernatural will once again be heading to San Diego Comic-Con as part of the Warner Bros. Television presentations taking place at the convention.
