Final Season of ‘Gotham’ will Start Filming in July

It was a sad day once Fox announced that season 5 of Gotham would be the last. The good news, however, is that the fifth season will start filming in July. The fourth season was a big success, especially in making an ode to Tim Burton’s Batman Returns, or the No Man’s Land comics as Jeremiah Valeska succeeded in cutting Gotham off of the outside world. Even though Jeremiah will not be the Joker, and everyone wants Cameron Monaghan to be the Joker, he is not the real villain.

The Executive Producer, Danny Cannon announced via Instagram that the fifth season begins shooting on July 23. It reminds me of what they did last year, and how I thought it was super-fast to release it in September. Fox, however kind of crushed that hope and announced that they wouldn’t air season five before 2019. An excellent way to make us wait and talk about theories!

After seeing the conclusion of season 4, no one knew what was to become of the TV show. Was it getting renewed? Was it not? So many TV shows were being canceled all at once, and it made us a little afraid for Gotham. At last, we finally got another season in an announcement, but they also said it would be its last. Star Camren Bicondova reported that this season would have a shorter run, and instead of the 13 episodes, we only get ten episodes. Although this is not in an official announcement made by Fox, we still hope the last season will run a little longer.

What do you think of Fox making us wait until 2019? Are you excited that they finally announced another season? Or are you more sad about seeing the TV show go? Discuss it with us in the comments below. Whenever they air the new season, we are sure the series is going out with a big bang.
