News for Fans, By Fans!

Stephen Amell is ‘Pumped’ for ‘Code 8’ Movie – and so are we!

Stephen Amell has been officially winning over our hearts since he first appeared on Arrow and he continues to do so in his off screen time. He is the kind of person who is absolutely passionate about everything he believes in – his family and friends, his worklife, his fans and his continuously exciting projects. (Well, and Baseball too!)

One of his big projects that he and his cousin Robbie Amell have been working on, is their upcoming Code 8 movie. Together, the pair and the rest of the Code 8 team raised over $1.7 million from over 20,000 backers on the crowdfunding site, Indiegogo.

Indiegogo has said that Code 8 is the highest- crowdfunded film of 2016 on any platform. The campaign, which closed over the weekend, had an original goal of $200,000.

Recently, Stephen got together with Robbie and the rest of the Amsterdam crew and tweeted his excitement after a screening:

The film takes place in a world where 4% of the population are born with some type of supernatural ability.

“Instead of being billionaire superheroes, most ‘specials’ live in poverty and resort to crime, forcing the police to become more militarized,” the synopsis said. “The story follows a young man with special powers struggling to find work as a day laborer. After a dispute over payment, he finds himself in a confrontation with a police officer and the autonomous robots backing him up.”

We have been excited for this film since we first heard about it 2 years ago, and we are highly looking forward to its release! We will provide you with more updates, photos and love in regards to the film as they come – Congratulations Stephen and Robbie, we can’t wait to see your incredible film!
