‘The Walking Dead’ Alum Tyler James Williams to Star in ‘The Wedding Year’

Tyler James Williams is keeping super busy these days! In addition to his upcoming new ABC series Whiskey Cavalier, The Walking Dead alum will also be starring in the upcoming indie film The Wedding Year. Williams will be starring opposite Modern Family star Sarah Hyland who is also executive producing.

From Lakeshore Entertainment and director Robert Luketic (Legally Blonde), The Wedding Year follows Hyland’s character Mara Hickey, a photographer living in LA. Mara’s boyfriend is beyond ready to settle down, however, she has little to no interest in ever getting married. When the couple is invited to fifteen weddings all in the same year, will Mara cave and catch the wedding fever?

Deadline reports that Williams will play a character named Jake Riddick, Mara’s boyfriend who is also an aspiring chef. The two characters initially meet via a dating site.

Additional casting for The Wedding Year was announced on Wednesday. According to The Hollywood Reporter, in addition to Williams and Hyland, Jenna Dewan, Wanda Sykes, and Anna Camp have also joined the production.

Williams is also starring in the new ABC series Whiskey Cavalier opposite his former Walking Dead co-star Lauren Cohan as well as Scott Foley which will premiere in 2019.
