What to Watch: Films for Memorial Day Weekend

Disney

This weekend is all about honoring and remembering those who served our country. This weekend is serious and is for our heroes but it is also a time to celebrate. Without our war heroes, we wouldn’t be able to enjoy the freedom we have today.

Part of that freedom is the ability to enjoy watching films whenever we want. There are some good ones premiering this weekend.

 Solo: A Star Wars Story

During an adventure into the criminal underworld, Han Solo meets his future copilot Chewbacca and encounters Lando Calrissian years before joining the Rebellion.

How to Talk to Girls at Parties

An alien touring the galaxy breaks away from her group and meets two young inhabitants of the most dangerous place in the universe: the London suburb of Croydon.

The Gospel According to Andre

From the segregated American South to the fashion capitals of the world, operatic fashion editor André Leon Talley’s life and career are on full display, in a poignant portrait that includes appearances by Anna Wintour, Marc Jacobs, Tom Ford, Bethann Hardison, Valentino, and Manolo Blahnik.

In Darkness

A blind musician hears a murder committed in the apartment upstairs from hers that sends her down a dark path into London’s gritty criminal underworld.

Mary Shelley

The love affair between poet Percy Shelley and 18 year old Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin, which resulted in Mary Shelley writing Frankenstein.
