The Losers Club has continued to grow! Well, the Adult casting for IT: Chapter 2 is.
Deadline has reported that Jay Ryan has been cast as the adult version of Ben Hanscom in New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. upcoming blockbuster, IT: Chapter 2. The younger version of the character was played by Jeremy Ray Taylor in IT, who will also be reprising the young character role in the anticipated sequel.
In the best-selling novel written by Stephen King, Ben has taken on a job as an architect – quite a successful one at that. Adult Ben is most notably known in the novel for going from being a bullied, heavy set kid to a rugged and handsome adult. King’s subtle way of showing that you never know who those kids you bully will turn out to be! I’m highly interested in seeing how they are going to be spinning this role for the film, and Jay Ryan is an absolutely perfect candidate.
The actor confirmed the casting on Twitter recently, ecstatic about his new role and to ‘Join the Club’:
