Melissa Benoist to Make Broadway Debut in ‘Beautiful: The Carole King Musical’
Supergirl star Melissa Benoist is about to fly over to New York City’s iconic Broadway to make her stage debut!
Benoist has already shown off her incredible singing capabilities when she starred on the Fox series Glee, but now she’s taking on a legend as she’s set to star in the musical Beautiful: The Carole King Musical. Benoist will be joining the cast in the role of Carole King next month at the Stephen Sondheim Theater in New York.
In a joint statement, producer Paul Blake and Sony/ATV Music Publishing expressed their excitement regarding Benoist joining the cast by saying:
[row]“We are over the moon to welcome Melissa into the Beautiful family this summer. We’ve always loved Melissa’s singing on Glee and, added to that, her great work as Supergirl promises that our audiences are in for a special treat at the Sondheim.”[/row]
The musical’s website describes the show best: Beautiful: The Carole King Musical tells “the inspiring true story of King’s remarkable journey from teenage songwriter to Rock & Roll Hall of Fame” superstar we know and love today. The musical features several of King’s iconic hits including You’ve Got a Friend, You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling, One Fine Day and many others.
Benoist’s limited run in the musical begins June 7th and extends through August 4th. You can purchase tickets for the show HERE.
