The ‘Leprechaun’ franchise is getting a SyFy Reboot!

For those of you who are big fans of the Leprechaun franchise, I have some amazing news for you – the SyFy channel has done it again.

Leprechaun is probably one of the longest-running slasher franchises next to the Halloween and Friday the 13th. SyFy channel has confirmed, following their day long marathon on Saint Patrick’s Day, that this movie will serve as a second attempt at a fresh start for the series.

SyFy has plans to be returning the character to its original conception, a Leprechaun mythology with magical kills and curses mixed with Freddy Krueger-like jokes and wisecracks. Warwick Davis is unfortunately not returning to the role; instead his shoes will be filled by Linden Porco who many may recognize as Marlon Wayan’s body double in Little Man.

One familiar face that will be returning is Mark Holton, best known as Francis Buxton in Pee-wee’s Big Adventure, picking up his role as Ozzie – a survivor from the first film.

Check out the new teaser for the film titled Leprechaun Returns below:

Leprechaun Returns will air on the SyFy channel in 2019! (Hopefully on Saint Patrick’s Day!)
