Netflix Drops Mysterious Teaser for New Supernatural Teen Series ‘The Innocents’

It feels like Netflix is planting new original series onto their platform almost daily, but occasionally they’ll put a little extra marketing effort into a couple of them to assure they get on our radars. So, when a new teaser trailer for a supernatural teen series called The Innocents starring Guy Pearce hit the internet today our interest was certainly piqued.

The eight-episode British series follows two in love teenagers named Harry and June who “run away from their repressive family lives to be together only to be thrown into an extraordinary journey of self-discovery that derails their innocent dream. Secrets kept from them by their respective parents test their love to the breaking point, and the extraordinary gift they possess unleashes powerful forces intent on dividing them forever.” Percelle Ascott (Wizards vs. Aliens) and Sorcha Groundsell (Clique) have been cast as the romantic leads with Pearce playing a character named Halvorson.

While the trailer doesn’t offer too many clues about what the supernatural elements could be, it does have a lot of imagery of glass and mirrors and features the tagline “What you see is not what you see.”

It also promises that “love changes everything.”
