Kesha Delivers a Powerful Performance of ‘Praying’ at the 2018 Grammys

The 2018 Grammy Awards, like many award shows both this year and in the future, had an important message to deliver. That message has been the reason for the all-black movement at the Golden Globes and white roses at the ceremony tonight, that message stems from the #MeToo movement.

That movement was celebrated alongside the talented artists who won awards for their craft, the many genres that came together to honor their brightest stars, and the performances that wowed audiences both in the crowd and at home.

One of those performances was that of Kesha, who was joined by Cyndi Lauper, Julia Michaels, Bebe Rexha, Camila Cabello, Andra Day for her powerhouse single, Praying.

Praises for the performance started rolling in before the last note was even complete, which isn’t exactly a surprise. Kesha’s story and bravery in telling it have inspired not just fans, but other women in the industry. She’s given a platform to those without one and given a voice to those who couldn’t use theirs.

In a movement like this one, where change is not just being asked for, but demanded, it’s performances like these that remind us why it’s so important to listen when these stories are being told.

It most certainly felt like the moment of the night for us, too.
