Reese Witherspoon Behind ‘Times Up’ Pin for Golden Globes

When you watch the Golden Globes this evening, you’ll look upon a sea of black. Worn by both women and men, the all-black movement is happening to bring awareness to Times Up – the activist group with a mission to stop sexual harassment and inequality in Hollywood.

Reese Witherspoon is a driving force behind the movement and she’s also a driving force behind what we’ll all see tonight. Not only did she raise her voice to encourage everyone to take part in the all-black movement, she went a step further with a costume designer.

Witherspoon asked Arianne Phillips to design Times Up pins to be worn for tonight’s Golden Globes award shows. This isn’t the first time celebrities have come together to wear ribbons and pins to bring awareness, and it certainly won’t be the last.

Phillips was on board with Witherspoon’s request and asked Michael Schmidt, jewelry designer, to make the 500 pins for the ceremony. In two weeks, the project was complete.

We anticipate tonight’s red carpet, as well as the ceremony being perhaps the most important in award show history. It’s going to set a standard and require people to continue acknowledging the ongoing assault and harassment in Hollywood.

Stand together, sisters, we’ll be standing with you.
